OUR STORY
A church for people still figuring it out.
Kindred isn’t for people who have it all together. It’s for the curious, the tired, the skeptical, and the hopeful — anyone looking for a faith that feels honest and a family that feels real.

HOW WE STARTED
It started with a living room and a big question
In 2016, a dozen friends crammed into the Riveras’ living room asking the same thing: could church feel less like a performance and more like a family? Kindred grew out of that question — a little louder, a little messier, and a lot more honest than we expected.
Today we gather each Sunday on Riverbend Avenue, but the dream hasn’t changed: a place where you can bring your doubts and your dinner, and leave a little more known than when you came.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Simple faith, held with open hands
Jesus at the center
We’re captivated by the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus — the surest picture of who God is.
Grace changes everything
You’re loved before you’ve fixed a thing. Grace isn’t the reward for change; it’s the reason for it.
Rooted in Scripture
The Bible is our shared foundation — read honestly, wrestled with together, and lived out.
Everyone’s invited
Every age, background, and story has a place here. Belonging comes before believing.

LEAD PASTORS
Caleb & Sofia Rivera
Caleb and Sofia planted Kindred in 2016 and have been saying “come as you are” ever since. Caleb preaches most Sundays; Sofia leads our teaching team and pastoral care — and, for the record, out-preaches him on a regular basis.
They live a few blocks from the church with their three kids — Micah (11), Ava (8), and baby June — and a rescue dog named Barnabas who has, tragically, never learned to sit. On a day off you’ll find them at the farmers market or losing at family game night.
“We don’t want you to visit a church. We want you to find a family.”
